Martin Roth, 88 of Appleton, passed away early Monday Morning, August 14, 2017. Marty was surround by family members. He was born on March 16, 1929 in Strasburg, North Dakota to Martin and Marianna (Fiest) Roth. Martin married the love of his life Rose Jahner on August 23, 1948. They had four children in North Dakota where he made his living as a farmer before they moved to Appleton, Wisconsin where he started his own construction business, Roth Construction, and had two more daughters. Martin enjoyed going home to North Dakota to fish and hunt but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be well remembered for having a carefree sense of humor that brought happiness to all those around him.
Martin is survived by his wife Rose; five children: Estella Chandler, Kathleen (Bob) McCann, Dwayne (Sue) Roth, daughter-in-law Judy Roth, Rosalie (Grayson) Gajewski, Paula (Mike) Roberts; eleven grandchildren: John Chandler, Peter (Becky) Chandler, Patrick (Jen) McCann, Amanda (Dom Beal) McCann, Craig (Stacey) Roth, Scott (Mackenzie) Roth, Melissa (Joseph) Jahnke, Jessica (Steve) Mohr, Michael (Christa) Roth, Julia Jarosinski and Malayna Jarosinski; sixteen great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Addelyn Chandler, Callie and Jacob McCann, Bowie and Rehn Beal, Kayla and Kaitlyn Roth, Kaz, Charlize, Isabelle, Linkin, and Lily Roth, Matthew Jahnke, and Emily and James Mohr, and two sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, son Thomas Roth, and son-in-law John Chandler.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, August 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 W. Fremont St., Appleton, with Father Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends and relatives may visit at church on Thursday from 9 am until 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank the second floor staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for the kind and gentle care that they gave to dad. We would also like to thank Dr. Ahmad and his staff at the Neenah Nephrology Clinic.
