Obituary for Harvey Frank Lemke

Harvey Frank Lemke, age 101, of Appleton, died Sunday, February 26, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Grand Chute. Harvey was born November 5, 1915, in Waupaca County to Edward and Emma (Wilfur) Lemke. His family moved to Appleton when he was 6 years of age, and with the exception of the 14 years he lived in Fremont, he has always resided in Appleton.

After graduating from Appleton Senior High School he started working at Zwicker Knitting Mill in June of 1935, where he was the manager of the finishing department until his retirement in January of 1981.

His hobbies included golf, fishing, traveling, and he was an avid Packer fan - holding season tickets for many years.

He is survived by a granddaughter, Kathryn Bax, of California; two nieces: Janis Garren and Sharon Eisenhoffer; and 2 nephews: Gary and Royce Wettstein.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae, his parents, Edward and Emma, a daughter, Pamela Bax, a son, Mark Lemke, 3 sisters: Elvera Wettstein, Geraldine (Mack) Bolen, and Erna Lemke, and a brother, Roland Lemke.
