Harvey Frank Lemke, age 101, of Appleton, died Sunday, February 26, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Grand Chute. Harvey was born November 5, 1915, in Waupaca County to Edward and Emma (Wilfur) Lemke. His family moved to Appleton when he was 6 years of age, and with the exception of the 14 years he lived in Fremont, he has always resided in Appleton.
He was married on October 2, 1937 in Neenah to Gladys Mae Ber who preceded him in death in May of 1983. After graduating from Appleton Senior High School he started working at Zwicker Knitting Mill in June of 1935, where he was the manager of the finishing department until his retirement in January of 1981.
His hobbies included golf, fishing, traveling, and he was an avid Packer fan - holding season tickets for many years.
He is survived by a granddaughter, Kathryn Bax, of California; two nieces: Janis Garren and Sharon Eisenhoffer; and 2 nephews: Gary and Royce Wettstein.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae, his parents, Edward and Emma, a daughter, Pamela Bax, a son, Mark Lemke, 3 sisters: Elvera Wettstein, Geraldine (Mack) Bolen, and Erna Lemke, and a brother, Roland Lemke.
A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Monday, March 6, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1451 Green Valley Rd., Neenah. Friends may visit on Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park from 10 am until the time of service. Entombment to follow.
