Richard M. “Dick” Neubert, age 73, Appleton, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at The Bridges of Appleton. Dick was born in Appleton on December 8, 1942 to the late Milton and Alice (Schroeder) Neubert. He graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1961. Dick proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 38. He was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Dick’s passion was driving bus to sporting events especially the Brewer games. He also enjoyed driving people around in the Kobussen Coach to see the United States. Dick loved to play cribbage and sheepshead with his boys, friends and relatives. He treasured spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dick was known as a person with a big heart.
He is survived by his sons: Wayne (Dawn) Neubert and Bill (Julie) Neubert; stepchildren: Sharon Vanooyen, Michael (Tammy) Mehlberg, and Diane Schucknecht; grandchildren: Jessica, Bryce, Brittany, Brianna, Marissa, Devin, Hannah and Tanner and his brother: Ken (Sandy) Neubert.
Dick was preceded in death by his brother Harold “Jerry” Neubert.
A funeral service for Dick will be held at 11AM, Friday, September 30, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 129 S Mason St, with Rev. Thomas Mielke officiating. Friends may visit from 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel and again from 9:30 until the time of service Friday at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
